Trevor Davies updates us with his thoughts just before England's defeat by Germany...
Saturday's always our busiest day on the News of the World, but yesterday felt really full-on, preparing a paper to roar England on Sunday. All the excitement, anticipation and craziness is there in the paper. We start off in our news pages with a tribute to footballing gods and move on to the latest on players and fans before discovering the scientific formula for a perfect penalty on our third spread.
As well as helping to put the paper to bed, the Gadgits column made a contribution to all the world cuppery by finding out the result of the England v Germany game.
We asked the guys at Football Manager Live to feed in the likely team line-ups for today's game and they came up with a 3-1 win for England. Sounds far-fetched, but Football Manager is based on detailed stats, right down to which foot a player kicks with. So if I trusted anyone's match prediction it would be theirs. We managed to get a video of it on our site here http://tinyurl.com/2dcs6kr. We're off to a screening of the match at Brick Lane later. Here's hoping it will be as good as the Football Manager version…
