Meet our UK World Cup Correspondent, Edgar

Hi, I am Edgar from Northern Ireland. Yes I know - we did not make it to the world cup since 86.In that case I always follow the Italians. I also beleive they can do it this year. I work as an I.T Consultant and in my spare time I love to play football, PC games and most of all spend time with my four sons who hate football and would rather have a psp.

Meet our UK World Cup Correspondent, Peter

My name is Peter Annandale (nickname the Duck)

I’m an IT technician working for a sales and marketing company within the healthcare industry. My main roles include managing our It helpdesk and running our network infrastructure.

I’m a keen football fan, I follow my local team AFC Bournemouth. During the world cup I will of course be supporting England.

When I’m away from my computer I enjoy a variety of sports including football, running and F1.

Calling All Correspondents

As excitement builds for the World Cup, we’re inviting fans of LogMeIn to join in World Cup fever! Would you like to share your experience using LogMeIn Ignition during the World Cup? If so, we’d like to have you be a LogMeIn World Cup Correspondent!

As a correspondent, you’ll receive a complimentary copy of LogMeIn Ignition app for the iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. In exchange, you’ll be asked to share how LogMeIn Ignition enables you to stay connected when watching the games, provide your observations, tips and tricks – and of course, show your team spirit – whoever you’re rooting for!

To become a correspondent for LogMeIn during the World Cup, you must:
- Have a LogMeIn account (Free or Pro2) and an active Apple iTunes account
- Be familiar with how to use an iPhone, iPod touch and/or iPad
- Be willing to use LogMeIn Ignition and create a short e-mail about how you’re using it during at least two games. This content will feature here on our blog and be posted on our Twitter and Facebook channels.
If you are interested in being a LogMeIn Correspondent, and live in the UK, France, Spain or the Netherlands and will be available during the World Cup, please leave a comment below with how we can contact you, or complete our survey before June 11th. We have a strict number of correspondents allocated per country, so first come, first served!

Kick-off

Over the last few weeks, anticipation has been building for the biggest sporting event of the year. From our European headquarters in Amsterdam, we have employees rooting for just about every national team participating in this year's World Cup - and World Cup fever is building by the day. We'll be watching with particular interest in the coming weeks matches with France, Spain, The Netherlands and England.

For the sake of the diverse nationalities in our office, we won't declare a favorite - but we invite you to vote on our poll on this blog, or name your pick in the comments below- who do you favor to win the 2010 World Cup?

Now, as we prepare to join in the World Cup fever by way of this blog, we'd like to share with you our House Rules:

· We'll be posting content - tips and tricks, comments and stories of staying connected - from our LogMeIn Correspondents. When there is a new blog post, we'll let our followers on Twitter and Facebook know.

· Blog posts will be in as many as four languages - French, Dutch, Spanish and English. Not all content may be available in all languages, but everything will be available at a minimum in the local language of the correspondent and English.

· To be able to sort content that is relevant for you, we'll use language as a label for each post, in addition to the topic and keywords. So, going forward, you'll be easily able to search for posts in the language of your choice.

· We know many followers are passionate about their teams as well as their technology. We welcome comments and lively discussion of all things football or LogMeIn related, but comments will be moderated to keep them free of spam and advertisements. Please, if you do leave a comment, keep it on topic and respectful, even if you disagree!

We’re looking for LogMeIn Correspondents to share their experiences on this blog on how to stay connected during the World Cup. Whether you’re watching the games live in South Africa, in the comfort of your living room or at the local pub, we want you on our team - using LogMeIn to be in two places at once.
